Blums Bid Board Auction
Blum's Bid Board Auction is a month long silent Auction that ends in a live Auction the first Saturday of every month. Stop at our front desk with a Driver's License or valid ID to sign up for a bidder number. Every item for Auction has a yellow bidding tag with it to write down your bidder number and how much you want to bid on it. Items are brought in on consignment during drop off appointments and are available for browsing and bidding until Auction Day (the first Saturday of the month). We offer a great selection of Firearms, Coins, Jewelry, Furniture, Collectibles, Antiques, and other great items that changes every month!
To bid on items in our Auction, you need to register for a Bidder number at our front desk. This is a permanent number that you can use every time you come in to Blum's to bid on any items in our Auction. All you need to register is a valid ID or Driver's License. We will put your information into our computer system and fully explain our contract to you. We will also ask for a phone number or email address to contact you by if you win items at one of our monthly Bid Board Auctions. If you give us an email address, you will receive an email with a copy of your invoice attached but you will not get a phone call notification. Even though we do offer courtesy phone calls and emails to let you know you won items, it is the Bidders responsibility to check if they won. You can call us at 570-874-1651 starting the Sunday after the Auction, give us your Bidder number and we can tell if and what you won, and what your total will be.
If you win an item at our monthly Bid Board Auction you have 7 days after the Auction to pick up your items and pay your balance. Any items that are not paid for within the first 7 days will have an additional 10% late fee added on to the final purchase price. Any items that are not picked up after 60 days after the Auction date will be resold and any bidder accounts at that time that still owe a balance will have their bidding privileges revoked. All items at Blum's Bid Board Auction are sold as is, where is and there are no returns. We ask that all Bidders please check out all items to their own satisfaction before bidding on them. Items can be looked at and tested all month long up until Auction Day. If something needs to be plugged in, please ask an associate and we can help you.
If you cannot be present the day of the Auction you can fill out a proxy bid sheet and one of our employees will bid for you during the Auction. Stop at the front desk and pick up a pink proxy bid sheet. You must fill in your bidder number, the item number (only fill this out if it is the final week when we have blue or orange stickers on the yellow tags), a short description of the item, the location (rows have numbers & letters hanging on signs above them, and cases have numbers on a sticker in the middle), and the high bid you want us to stop at. The employee will bid for you until your high bid is reached. You must have at least half your high bid on the card when you turn in your proxy sheet. It only costs a dollar per item due when you turn in the proxy sheet. Proxy bids must be handed in at the desk by 8 PM the Friday before the Auction. Any questions, please ask one of our associates.
Often on the item tags you may see things written in marker. If there is a star drawn on the tag, that is for the employee doing the Proxy Bids on Auction day, so they can easily find the items they are watching. If a tag has NB written on it, or is stamped No Bid, that items did not sell at the Auction, and you can purchase it for $3.00 at the front desk after the Auction. If you see B.O.T. written on a tag in a showcase, it stands for Box On Top, and means the box for that item is on top of the showcase that it's in.
To sell items on consignment at Blum's Bid Board Auction you first have to sign a consignor contract. If you already have a Bidder number, your Consignor number will be the same number. If you do not have a Bidder number, when you sign up you will be registered as a Bidder as well and your Bidder and Consignor number will be the same number. When you register for a consignor number the process is similar to getting a Bidder number (we will put your information into our system and then explain our contract to you). Once you are registered as a consignor, you need to make an appointment to bring in your items. Schedules for drop off appointments come out at each Auction for drop offs in the following month (see information next to Drop Off Appointments under the This Month tab).
